Happy Thanksgiving!

I've been saving this picture for some time now...I can finally use it! I love Sesame Street :) For everyone out there, I have a quote taken from Denis Waitley that I think is very "Thanksgiving time" appropriate:

"Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude."

I think that just about sums it up! I wish everyone a fabulous day with their families...enjoy each other!

God Said NO!

I asked God to take away my habit . . .
God said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole . . .
God said, No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience . . .
God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness . . .
God said, No. I give you blessings; happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain . . .
God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow...
God said, No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life...
God said, No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me. God said..... Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.

MY MOM

As I reflect on the times that I remember her best
it seems she was always enduring a test.
Of a life changing moment a loved one had faced
or the choice of a path that was taken in haste.
She watched all of her children, as each found their way,
and each of the five knew where their place lay.
In the heart and the mind of a woman who knew...
each child as a flower with its own special hue.
She left us so quickly but she's not really gone,
as she's in all of us, so her beauty goes on.
And the wisdom and humor she showed through her days,
is in each of us and displayed many ways.
She lives on in her children and in their children as well,
and all the great grands the uniqueness we'll tell.
Of this very special person with a heart made of gold
who left with us memories to cherish and hold.

Alyssa Nicole

Our second amazing creation, Lyssie Boo, made her way casually out on May 27, 2000. She didn't make a peep for 6 whole hours after she was born and now I can't get her to stop! She has always been a girl that knows exactly what she wants but takes her sweet time at everything she does. She is the most kindhearted girl a mom could ask for. She is a tremendous help with her little sister, many times asking me if I'll be able to watch her if Alyssa goes somewhere else. I keep telling her that I haven't lost any of them yet.. She loves listening to music, going to school, singing in the school choir, playing with her friends, and being with her family. What a girl!

Rylee Grace

My last little fantastic Ry Ry munchkin came barreling out on April 15, 2005...thank goodness I had all ready done my taxes! She has been a little spit fire from the get-go. I swear she came out running and hasn't stopped. Since she is my last baby, it is very bittersweet to see her growing so fast. She loves to learn and be able to do everthing that her big sisters can do. She just doesn't think it's fair if they can do something that she's not old enough to do yet. She doesn't want us to kill any sort of worm or bug/spider. Don't get me wrong...she won't touch them with a 10-foot pole, but she will cry if you crush one. She loves animals and wants to work with mommy when she grows up. How our lives have been completed with these three wonderful children...
